Plan Development
There are 80+ faculty and staff, representing 38 departments/offices, serving as members of Tactical Teams. Members of the Staff Advisory Council, Information Technology Advisory Committee, Inclusiveness Committee, Greening Committee, Institutional Effectiveness Committee and Econometric Modeling Committee are also contributing to tactical plan development.
To date, 19 Strategic Objective Worksheets were completed by Tactical Teams and 13 Progress Reports were submitted as well.
Outcomes and metrics for the Objectives have been strengthened.
Creating Educational Distinction
Objective 1 - Following a review by the President and the Dean of the College, the Curriculum Review and Revision Committee presented a proposal for a new Core Curriculum to the faculty at large for their input.
Objective 2 - A new major in Physics was approved by the Curriculum Committee and will be forwarded to the Faculty Senate. Two other majors were recently fully approved: Peace and Justice Studies and Environmental Politics and Sustainability. A proposed major in Social Work is currently under review.
Objective 3 - Seventeen (17) new internship sites for our students have been created.
Objective 7 - Academic Assessment Committee formed; and, Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA) results disseminated.
Developing Ethical Leaders for a Global Society
Objective 9 - The President's Steering Committee for Inclusiveness discussed the place of inclusiveness in the curriculum with the Curriculum Review Committee. The Steering Committee is sponsoring numerous programs this academic year to that promote inclusivity.
Objective 11 - A fundraising plan for the NHIOP was developed and implementation has begun.
Objective 12 - Exploration of a partnership program with Institute for Central American Development Studies (ICADS) is underway. A site review of ICADS in San Jose, Costa Rica is complete.
Partnering for the Future
Objective 14 - An articulation agreement from Concord Community College for criminal justice students is expected to be finalized in early March. Discussions with Manchester Community College are underway to initiate articulation agreements
Objective 15 - The College submitted 16 grants for $2,483,119 YTD, was awarded $2,067,361 YTD and has 7 applications still pending.
Advancing Reputation and Reach
Objective 17 - received 4000 applications in the 2010-11 admissions cycle. An increase of 16% over last year,37% more than five years ago and 60% more than nine years ago.
Objective 19 - New publications for student recruitment (viewbook, travel brochure, Etc.) developed during summer of 2010 to reflect a greater emphasis on academic majors, experiential learning, and outcomes.
Objective 20 - College Advancement and Alumni Communication plan established 11/2010 including an E-Alumni Newsletter; Annual Fund flyer; Letter from the President template; a newly designed edition of Portraits Magazine; and a plan to communicate the strategic plan.
Stewarding and Extending Resources
Objective 21 - A draft timeline for the capital campaign is developed and ready for review.
Objective 22 - Depreciation is fully funded in fiscal year 2011.
