Metaphysics Colloquium
Sponsored by the Institute for Saint Anselm Studies, the 2008 Metaphysics Colloquium was held at Saint Anselm College June 11-12, 2008. The colloquium takes its inspiration from Pope John Paul II who in Fides et Ratio spoke of the need for continuing philosophical speculation to come to an understanding of the Catholic faith.

The principal speaker at the colloquium was Father Terrance Klein of the Department of Theology, Fordham University. Responding to Father Klein's paper, "Karl Rahner on the Soul," were Professor Mark Fischer from Saint John's Seminary, Camarillo, California, and Professor Giuseppe Butera of the Philosophy Department, Providence College.

The fourth paper in this issue of the Saint Anselm Journal is by Father John R. Fortin, O.S.B., the founding director of the Institute for Saint Anselm Studies. Father John is a professor of philosophy at Saint Anselm College. The final paper in this issue is the text of the 2008 Saint Anselm Lecture, which Professor Gregory B. Sadler delivered at Saint Anselm College on April 22, 2008. Professor Sadler teaches philosophy at Fayetteville State University.

The Institute for Saint Anselm Studies is pleased to publish these five papers.
