Corey Lewandowski Speaks at the NHIOP
By Ryan Dumont '19, March 03, 2017
On February 27, 2017, Corey Lewandowski, former campaign manager to President Donald Trump, joined the Institute. In a crowed NHIOP auditorium, he sat down with Institute's Executive Director, Neil Levesque. The two men began the discourse with Mr. Lewandowski's back story, from simple beginnings in Lowell, Massachusetts to his first meeting with Mr. Trump, at which he was hired on the spot to run the then-candidate's campaign.
Mr. Lewandowski then described his journey on the campaign trail starting with the second place finish in the Iowa Caucus, stating that Trump was hungry for a win in New Hampshire. When asked on how he handled Trump's rhetoric, Lewandowski said that you have to "let Trump be Trump," which allowed him to win the White House. Mr. Lewandowski gave a view into President Trump's character that not many will ever get to experience, speaking on the President's determination to do the impossible; always challenging what he is told cannot be done.
The unique event ended with a question and answer session, during which Mr. Lewandowski left those with aspiring political interests a few words of advice: "to get involved now and to put your all into what you do."
