On Monday, March 27, Saint Anselm College students, alumni and members of the community participated in a focus group for Showtime's "The Circus" on President Donald Trump's first 100 days in office. The focus group was moderated by Mark Halperin, Senior Political Analyst at NBC News and MSNBC, and a co-host of "The Circus." A clip from the focus group appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Thursday, March 30.
Many of the student participants were the Institute's Kevin B. Harrington Student Ambassadors. Liam O'Rourke, a sophomore from Durham, N.H., was impressed that the group was so well informed. "The moderator asked the right questions and there was a good range of different views within the group," said Rourke, a politics major.
Freshman politics major Liam Nehiley, from Bridgewater, Mass., enjoyed participating in the focus group as well. "The fact that I watched The Circus throughout the election made it all the more special to me," he said, "but beyond that, it was really interesting to see such a diverse crowd of people offer their thoughts on the Trump administration in a civil manner without it getting out of hand."
"The Circus" airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. on Showtime.
