Kelly Demers, Ph.D.

Dr. Demers' research reflects her interest and training in curriculum and instruction and urban education.  Her research interests include urban education (e.g., equitable access to educational resources, white teachers' beliefs and attitudes regarding students/families of color), multicultural education (e.g., issues associated with race, socio-economic status, gender and LGBTQ), preparing teachers to work with English language learners, and arts integration across the elementary education curriculum.

She teaches Language, Literacy and Assessment Across the Curriculum, Theoretical Perspectives in ESOL, Assessment in ESOL, Methods of Teaching ESOL, Integrating Arts into Teaching, and Multicultural Perspectives in Public Schools.
