B.A., The College of the Holy Cross, Studio Art
In my artwork I use video, photography, and performance to explore feminine iconography and popular culture. This exploration uses the body as site for art, as an activator, and as an object. Through performances, installations, performance objects and sculptures I explore diverse topics including fashion, the Internet, and gender.
I attended the College of the Holy Cross where I studied Studio Art and played ice hockey. I hold a Master's degree in Digital+Media from Rhode Island School of Design. In 2007, I received and Award of Excellence in Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design.
I often work collaboratively with Jeanne Jo on textiles and new media projects. My recent exhibitions include: The Flux Factory, Conflux NYC, Intimacy: Across Digital and Visceral Performance Goldsmiths London UK, the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi Finland and Social Fabrics: Wearable+Media+Interconnectivity Dallas TX. Our work was featured in the book GirlDrive by Nona Willis Aronowitz and Emma Bee Bernstein. In 2009, I self-published The Berlin Dictionary, an illustrated collaborative dictionary for my hometown of Berlin N.H.
At Saint Anselm, I teach Digital Art and Imaging I and II, along with Visual Communications. Students in my classes work with both traditional and digital media and will see the work of a wide variety of artists. In addition to learning imaging software, we learn how to create images with meaning and how to interpret images from both art and advertising.
