Dean of Nursing Sharon Ann George, Ph.D., has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of nursing.
George heads the department with more than 25 years of teaching experience.
Dedicating her time to numerous professional associations and committees in the nursing field, George is currently leading an examination of nursing curricula in response to the nursing shortage.
George has been involved in numerous service projects including volunteering at a men’s homeless clinic and educating legislators about nurse practitioners and health care reform.
She is has received numerous awards for teaching excellence, research and an Outstanding Nurse Award with an official citation from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Senate.
She has taught at various universities including Boston University School of Nursing, Boston College School of Nursing, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell Nurse Practitioner Programs.
She is also a registered nurse and a nurse practitioner and has worked in occupational health as well as urgent care clinics in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
