Orvieto is located in southwestern Umbria one hour from Rome and one and half hours from Florence by train. Orvieto sits high above the valley on a mesa of volcanic rock. Our program is located on this 'hilltop' in the historic city center.
Orvieto is a beautiful city. The cobblestone roads, the gothic cathedral and piazzas may make you feel like you have stepped back in time, but amid the medieval and renaissance architecture are modern cafes, restaurants and shops.
All classes are taught in the Palazzo Negroni, a palace built in the 18th century. Our classrooms are located on the main floor of this beautiful three story building which is located not far from the Piazza del Popolo with its imposing medieval Palazzo. Each Thursday and Saturday morning, the Piazza del Popolo fills up with open-air market stands.
The classroom building is equipped with high-speed internet for student use as well as a very popular coin-operated espresso machine.
You and your fellow students will live in apartments located in the historic district of Orvieto within easy walking distance to the school, as well as to cafes, restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Most apartments are shared by four students and contain two double-occupancy bedrooms, a common area and a fully equipped kitchen.
Your housing fee covers all expenses such as water, gas, and electricity bills, as well as a weekly cleaning of the apartment. Sheets and towels are provided.
