Saint Anselm College welcomes homeschool applications. We recognize homeschooling as a viable alternative to public or private education. Homeschool students have found great success at Saint Anselm College, becoming active, engaged, and vibrant members of our community - in and out of the classroom.
Saint Anselm College recognizes that the experience of a homeschool applicant may be different from the experience of applicants from traditional educational backgrounds. For that reason, we encourage you to contact the Office of Admission with any questions.
Homeschool students need to submit the following materials in order to have your application reviewed for admission:
In addition to completing the Common Application and the essay, you will be asked to answer a few Saint Anselm College member questions.
$50 Application Fee or Fee Waiver
Official School Transcript(s)
Homeschooled applicants should provide a detailed outline of their high school curriculum, with course descriptions, learning goals, and outcomes. If you have taken any courses through a traditional high school or college, either online or otherwise, please be sure to have official transcripts from those institutions sent to the Office of Admission.
One letter should be written by the person(s) who has had primary oversight of the design and/or execution of your homeschool curriculum. This letter is intended to provide a broad look at your academic goals, learning style, intellectual curiosity, and ability to work through challenge. Additionally, the letter should include all learning outcomes.
The other letter should come from someone who has taught you in at least one of your academic courses. If your coursework has been completed entirely online, or if there is no instructor other than the person who had primary responsibility for your curriculum, you may include a letter from someone who knows you well in a non-academic capacity, a coach, volunteer coordinator or an employer.
We encourage you to visit campus for your interview, but we know that is not possible for everyone. If you are unable to travel to campus, our Homeschooled Application Liaison is happy to conduct interviews via phone, Skype, Facetime, or, when possible, off-campus. You may schedule your interview on our visit page.

ZeeMee Profile (Optional)
At Saint Anselm College, we look to gain a holistic understanding of each student during the application review process. In an effort to get to know our applicants even better, we have partnered with ZeeMee, a free service that helps students bring their applications to life. Use images, videos, and documents to share your story. Simply copy and paste the link into the Common Application. To begin your ZeeMee profile, you will need to create an account at zeemee.com.
Portfolio (Optional for Fine Arts Program)
If you are interested in applying for our fine arts program, you have the option to submit a portfolio of your work to be evaluated with your application. Saint Anselm College is partnering with SlideRoom which is integrated with the Common Application. Please contact the Office of Admission to learn more about how to submit your portfolio.
Beginning with the entering class of fall 2017, applicants who wish to submit their SAT scores may choose to submit scores from the "old" exam or "new" exam. As with the ACT exam, we suggest that students take the optional essay/writing section on the new SAT. The essay/writing portion of the new SAT is not an admission requirement. If students take both the "old" and "new" SAT exams, we will super-score the SAT exams taken for the same type of exam. We will not super-score across the "old" and "new" exams.
SAT and ACT test dates prior to November 15th will release results in time for scores to be considered with early action or early decision applications. If you are applying regular decision, test dates through December 15th will provide results in time for your scores to be considered with your application. To learn more about our SAT policy, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.
