Orientation Part II Preview

Summer Advising (Orientation Part I)
After you have deposited, you will be asked to choose a date to attend one of the scheduled summer advising sessions on June 14, June 15, or June 16. Summer Advising is a half-day program where you will have the opportunity to meet classmates and orientation leaders, establish your first semester class schedule, and receive your e-mail address and campus mailbox. Representatives from various aspects of campus life, such as Student Activities, Information Technology, the Bookstore, Athletics, and Health Services, will be available for your visit. Additional information regarding summer advising (Orientation Part I) will be posted here after May 1.

Beginning Your Journey (Orientation Part II)
The "official" beginning of college will be in late August when you arrive on campus for Orientation Part II. This is a three-day program that is designed to help you get to know your classmates, the academic expectations of college, involve yourself in the life of the campus community, and move you into your residence hall.

  • Move-In Day: Thursday, August 25
  • New Student Orientation: Thursday, August 25 - Saturday, August 27

Every new student will be placed into an orientation team led by two student leaders. These early connections with your classmates and student leaders will allow for candid and honest discussions about a variety of topics related to your college experience. These three fun-filled days will also include numerous social activities to allow you the opportunity to have quality time to spend with your new classmates.

Moving In

Move in happens when you arrive on campus for orientation in late August. Time is provided in the orientation schedule for students and parents to move into their room.

"It's the best day of the year!"
