Disability Services

The Office of Academic Advisement arranges for academic accommodations for students with disabilities. Students are welcome to contact the Office of Academic Advisement at (603) 641-7465 for more information about college policies relating to disabilities and the procedure for applying for academic accommodations.

Saint Anselm College complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

As the needs of students with disabilities vary, accommodations are provided on an individual, case-by-case basis. Academic accommodations at Saint Anselm College may include extended time for exams, a distraction reduced environment for taking exams, books on tape, help with note-taking, special seating arrangements, course materials in enlarged print, and the use of tape recorders in class. In addition, after consultation with the director of academic advisement, it may be possible to carry a reduced course load; however, in doing so, a student may have to complete courses during the summer to graduate in four years.

All students are expected to complete all of the college's requirements for graduation in order for a degree to be awarded. Saint Anselm College views the study of a foreign language as central to the liberal arts education it provides students; therefore, the foreign language requirement cannot be waived. Students with documented learning disabilities which affect second language acquisition should meet with the director of academic advisement when they begin their studies at the college to discuss their options for completing the language requirement and the academic resources that are available to them.

Students must provide appropriate documentation that supports their disability and the accommodations requested. Incoming students are advised to send their documentation to the director of academic advisement before the beginning of their first semester at the college.

Documentation should be delivered to the Office of Academic Advisement, Cushing Center, top Floor, or mailed to the following address:
