The Academic Resource Center (ARC) offers students assistance in developing or refining the academic skills that lead to college success. The center's professional and student staff provide services such as learning skills instruction, writing support, and peer mentoring.
The ARC also serves as a computer center with 20 PC workstations and wireless internet connectivity for laptop computers. The center is equipped with large tables for small group study as well as mentoring.
The adjacent classroom and conference room provide interchangeable settings for review sessions, workshops, seminars, individual peer mentoring sessions, and small group presentations.
The Peer Mentor and Writing Assistance Programs at Saint Anselm's Academic Resource Center are certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). All Peer Mentors and Writing Assistants are Saint Anselm students recommended by Saint Anselm faculty.
Peer Mentor and Writing Assistance training is conducted at the Academic Resource Center by Jan Lafleur, certified trainer of the Crossroads of Learning Tutoring Foundations Program, a professional tutor training course developed with and approved by The National Tutoring Association (NTA) and Fielding Graduate University.
