Saint Anselm College members are welcome to use the Multicultural Center for studying, group meetings and small programs. The Center is a multi-purpose space with tables, chairs and couches; computers, a television, lockers and kitchenette. It is open 24 hours a day Monday through Friday. Groups who would like to reserve the Multicultural Center can contact Linda Rey at email@example.com.
The Multicultural Center is responsible for providing support services and effective communication to commuter students to facilitate their success and connection to the Saint Anselm Community. Programs and events are planned throughout the year to improve the experience of commuter students at Saint Anselm College. Commuters are encouraged to send questions, comments and.or concerns to Andrea Griffin, the Commuter Student Liason at Angriffin@anselm.edu.
For new students who'd like to get acquainted with campus before the bustle of Freshman Move-In Day, the Multicultural Center offers the Transitions Program. Transitions is a three-day pre-orientation program that is designed to assist new multicultural and commuter students in their transition to Saint Anselm College. This program compliments the College's New Student Orientation Program by presenting students with a preview of campus life. Through a series of presentations and activities, students will be introduced to integral support services and resources, as well provided an opportunity to network with fellow Saint Anselm students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The Multicultural Center festivals and celebrations are open to all students, faculty, and staff as a way to learn more about the cultural history and traditions of various identity groups. Here are some of our annual events:
- Multicultural Day
- Hispanic Heritage Month
- Muslim Student Association Dinner
- Intercultural Holiday Dinner
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Program
- Lunar New Year Celebration
- Anselmian Hawk Pow Wow
- Women's History Month
The Multicultural Center staff conducts workshops and various campus-based programs relating to diversity for the Saint Anselm community. The purpose for these workshops is to strengthen and enhance awareness of diversity within the College community as it relates to race, gender, religion, nationality, age, sexual orientation, disabilities, and more. Through diversity workshops, participants explore ways they can make the College a place where diversity is welcomed and appreciated.
