The Gleason-Brown Quintet

Join us for an evening of eminently listenable jazz music at the Dana Center with the college's "house band," the Gleason-Brown Jazz Quintet. Ed Gleason and Monte Brown, members of the English and Philosophy departments and keepers of the jazz flame on the Hilltop, celebrate their 10th year of jazz performances at the Dana by presenting their version of some of the more recognizable tunes from jazz's vast repertoire. Front-liners include Monte on bass and vocals, Ed on sax, and special guest Chris Klaxton on trumpet. Several of the song selections will reflect jazz's fascination with this wonderful transitional season. "Autumn Leaves," "Autumn in New York," "Early Autumn," "Autumn Nocturne" and "September Song" are just a few of the adaptations you will hear.
