The Gleason-Brown Jazz Group presents "When October Goes"
featuring pianist/vocalist Yvonne Aubert and guitarist David Newsam
An evening of vocal and instrumental jazz.
Returning to the Dana Center Stage is Saint Anselm College's "House Jazz Ensemble" led by Professors Ed Gleason and Monte Brown. In keeping with their tradition of inviting the best area musicians to join them, Ed and Monte are pleased to announce that this fall's guest artists are UNH Music Department alum Yvonne Aubert, an outstanding vocalist and piano player, and recording artist and Berklee faculty member, guitarist David Newsam. The evening's song list will set standard tunes by Kern, Porter, Ellington and Johnny Mercer against more recent compositions by major modernist talents such as Gerry Mulligan, Oliver Nelson, Benny Golson and (yes, even) Barry Manilow (composer of the beautiful "When October Goes"). In addition to percussion, bass and guitar, Ms. Aubert's vocals are backed by trumpet, trombone and saxophone. Join us for an evening of relaxing music in the jazz mode.
