Chicken Dance

Marge and Lola are two barnyard chickens with a huge dream: to win the barnyard talent contest. The coveted First Prize? A pair of tickets to see the great Elvis Poultry in concert! But the competition is stiff, and the odds seem stacked against Marge and Lola: a very talented flock of ducks have the ability to achieve the highest scores, and seem to have the contest locked up. Can Marge and Lola meet the challenge, turn their dream into a mission, present a performance that will out-score the ducks, and win the talent contest against all odds? Adapted from Tammi Sauer and Dan Santat’s award-winning book, Chicken Dance is the latest theatrical enchantment from ArtsPower, whose own mission is to bring inspiring and community-enhancing theatre to young audiences. Now in its 30th year, and with 28 original plays in its repertoire, ArtsPower has helped to light the hearts and minds of more than 12 million children and adults, presenting musicals and dramas for grades K-9 throughout forty-nine states. The company continues to actively engage and challenge its young audiences to think more creatively, feel more deeply, and react more compassionately, through the medium of theatre. Bring your classes and your families to join in a barnyard-full of Chicken Dance entertainment, ‘Thankyouverymuch’!
