Rodney Camire

Class of 1994, Major - Biochemistry
Teaching Tomorrow's Doctors
While working in the lab with Professor Robert Vallari, Rodney Camire became interested in the proteins and enzymes involved in blood clotting. After graduating with a degree in biochemistry, he went on to complete a Ph.D. in record time (under four years) at the University of Vermont School of Medicine. Now a tenured faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania, he continues his award-winning research and teaches the doctors and medical researchers of tomorrow. Tens of thousands of people around the world who suffer from inherited blood disorders benefit from Camire's work. In 2009, he received the Saint Anselm Alumni Association's 2009 Academic Achievement Award.
