Kimberly Kersey Asbury

Assistant Professor, Fine Arts
Painting and Politics
On a Fulbright Fellowship in Botswana, Kimberly Kersey Asbury had planned to paint landscapes in the remote salt pans of Makgadikgadi. Instead, she began teaching secondary school students, a decision that changed her career and her life. In addition to being an exhibiting artist, she now teaches painting, drawing, mixed media, and visual communications. Like many of her faculty colleagues, Kersey Asbury offers service learning options, which emphasize community engagement as a way to meet learning goals while benefiting local organizations. Kersey Asbury also teaches a humanities seminar and participates in civic engagement programs at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College.
