Paul Finn

Professor and Chair, Psychology
Mentor and Marathoner
Nearly 1,000 Anselmians have graduated with degrees in psychology in Paul Finn's 30 years on the faculty. He frequently receives e-mail from graduates asking for job recommendations or advice on a current research project-or a jubilant announcement of receiving a doctorate or seeing their professional publication. Finn is chair of the psychology department, teaching general psychology, sports psychology, and other courses. His students typically win honors at meetings of Psi Chi, the national psychology honor society, for independent or collaborative research. His own research focuses on the psychology of competitive athletes. A devoted runner, he coaches the cross-country team and the track club, and rounds up dozens of students and alumni to train for the Boston Marathon every year.
