Ashley Pratte

Class of 2011, Major - Politics
Politics in Practice
Ashley Pratte sees the connection between government, public policy, and serving disadvantaged populations. As a volunteer, she experiences that intersection in real life by teaching English for New Americans to immigrant families in Manchester. Pratte's political engagement and service cross into her studies in the communications certificate program. She works with politics professor Jennifer Lucas on research related to women, politics, and the media. She is also a Spring Break Alternative leader and an ambassador at the NHIOP Pratte wants to be part of policy solutions that government can provide its citizens. President of her class since 2008, she was recently elected president of the student government association. Someday, after studying law or earning a master's in public policy, she might mount her own campaign for office.
