The following information has been adapted from the Saint Anselm College Catalogue 2008-2009.
Course Add/Course Drop (forms are sent to the registrar's office)
During the first week of the semester until early in the second week: Students may add or drop courses, through the Office of the Registrar, without any indication of course change(s) on their transcripts. Students should discuss this decision with their advisors.
Course Withdrawal After the Add/Drop Period (forms are sent to the Office of the Dean of the College.)
Until mid-semester
A student may withdraw from a course without grade penalty by completing a withdrawal form with his or her academic advisor. A transcription of "W" will appear.
After mid-semester until two weeks prior to the end of the semester
The student may withdraw from a course by completing a withdrawal form with his or her academic advisor. The professor teaching the course from which the student is withdrawing advises the academic dean on whether a W or WF is appropriate. The WF is transcripted and has a negative effect on the GPA.
A student may not withdraw from a course during the last two weeks of the semester, e.g., the last two weeks of classes.
