Why did you decide to do an internship?
I chose to do an internship to gain experience in fields that I may be interested in, and also to build my resume and make myself more marketable upon graduation.
If you could tell someone one reason why they should partake in an internship, what would you say?
The one reason I would give for someone to partake in an internship is to make yourself more attractive for a full time job when you graduate. Employers like any kind of professional experience, even if your internship doesn't relate much to the job you are interviewing for after graduation.
What was the most memorable experience you had while interning?
The most memorable experience I had while interning was staying in Times Square, New York for a night at one of the companies regional meetings.
What was the biggest obstacle you had to face during your internship?
One of the biggest obstacles that I faced during my internship was when I realized that the industry I was in wasn't for me. Although I do not see myself doing something similar upon graduation I learned a lot and had a great experience. I learned more about myself and my strengths.
What advice would you give to students who are interested in doing an internship but haven't applied yet?
Some advice that I would give to students who are interested in doing an internship is to be open minded. You'll never know exactly what a job consists of until you are actually in the position, so apply to a bunch of different places that sound interesting even if they might not seem like "the perfect internship."
