- M.S.W., Boston College School of Social Work, 1985
- B.S., Saint Anselm College, 1981, Criminal Justice/ Corrections
Prior to joining Saint Anselm College I worked in a variety of human services positions, from employment programs for at-risk youth to state and county corrections. I got my start in volunteer administration when I directed a big brother/big sister type mentoring program. From 1985-1989 I taught social work fulltime at Saint Anselm College. In 1987 in introduced service-learning into my courses and the Dean of the College soon asked me to launch a campus volunteer center. Since that time I have been running as fast as I can to keep up with student and faculty interest in community engagement and with community need.
I grew up in New Hampshire and actually met my wife through a class at Saint Anselm. We have three daughters which opened the door for me to coach softball for 18 years. Now that they are all grown and on their own, my wife and I have taken up birding and spend more time traveling and trying to stay fit. I also love to work on my house and property.
We recently became grandparents which has us traveling to England for now since that is where my daughter and her family live. I spend a lot of time preparing trails in our woods and other outdoor attractions in preparation for Jake's return and for all of the other grandchildren, cousins and other family who I hope will come to visit.
