ACPA Satellite Session

At the fall 2008 conference of the American Catholic Philosophical association, the Institute for Saint Anselm Studies sponsored a satellite session on Saint Anselm. The Saint Anselm Journal is pleased to publish the three papers presented at the session: Montague Brown, "St. Thomas Aquinas on Human and Divine Forgiveness," Katherin A. Rogers, "Anselm on Forgiveness, Patience, and Free Will," and Kevin McMahon, "Penance and Peter Abelard's Move Within."

Papers from Anselm Conferences

We are also pleased to publish two papers originally given at conferences sponsored by the institute. Daniel Shannon's "Justifying Atonement: An Anselmian Response to Modern Critics" was given at the third Anselm Conference in 2004. Michael Barnwell's "De Casu Diaboli: An Examination of Faith and Reason Via a Discussion of the Devil's Sin" was presented at the fourth Anselm conference in April 2009.

Called to commemorate the ninth centenary of the death of Saint Anselm, the 2009 conference examined the theme of faith and reason from Saint Anselm to Pope Benedict XVI. Future issues of The Saint Anselm Journal will publish other papers from the conference.
