New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College
As the New Hampshire Institute of Politics & Political Library mourns the passing of Navajo code talker Chester Nez, it shares his story from an event last summer.
Nez was one of 29 Navajo men recruited by the Marine Corps during World War II to develop a code that was unbreakable to the Japanese. He shared his experience as a code talker in the South Pacific at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth, N.H., in August 2013, which the NHIOP filmed.
