The New Hampshire Institute of Politics & Political Library and the Kevin Harrington Student Ambassadors' Civic Committee will host the annual Citizenship Week celebrations from Sept. 10-14, 2012.

Citizenship Week is an annual celebration of democracy and American citizenship. Events work to expose students to active civic discourse in their communities.

Kevin Harrington student ambassador and civic committee co-chair John Pearson said "During these challenging times at home and abroad, it is imperative that we foster a passion for learning about politics, and Citizenship Week serves as a way for students to learn, engage, and think about politics."

This year's events include a Mock Debate, all-American pub trivia,  Saint Anselm College alumnus and speaker Chris Salamone, a naturalization ceremony, and voter education, registration, and absentee ballot opportunities using TurboVote.

TurboVote  is a new service available to Saint Anselm College students that combines voter registration and out-of state absentee balloting before the November election. TurboVote makes "registering to vote as easy as renting a Netflix movie". Students can access this service from a laptop or smart phone anytime and receive assistance from civic committee members at any of the times and locations listed below.

"Citizenship week is more than just registering to vote or becoming informed about political issues, it is a time to reflect upon the difference that one person can make by doing their duty as a citizen" Student ambassador and civic committee co-chair Ashley Scoville said.

This year's Kevin Harrington Student Ambassador Civic Committee includes co-chairs John Pearson '14 and Ashley Scoville '15, and members Katie Muzzy '15, Theo Groh '13 , Jin Liu '13, Caleb Mason ‘14, Brian O'Shea ‘14, Marko Samardzic '13, Jake Wagner ‘14, Jesse Imse '14, Evan Dell'Olio '13, and Griffin Roberge '15.
