WMUR-TV and the New Hampshire Union Leader, New Hampshire's only state-wide commercial television station and only state-wide newspaper, will produce nine debates from the New Hampshire Institute of Politics before the forthcoming primary and general election.
"These debates are another example of our ongoing commitment to produce and deliver unmatched political coverage," said WMUR-TV President and General Manager Jeff Bartlett. "And the New Hampshire Institute of Politics is the perfect setting for such a forum."
"The Union Leader believes it is essential to provide voters with as open and detailed a discussion among the candidates as possible. We are delighted that these debates will be held at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics," said Union Leader publisher Joseph W. McQuaid.
"Each election cycle, WMUR and the Union Leader provide Granite Staters with exceptional coverage of the races, including debates that hit upon the key issues," said Neil Levesque, executive director of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics and Political Library at Saint Anselm College. "Saint Anselm College also has a tradition of participating in the electoral process by hosting candidate debates and forums. This year, we are very excited to partner with WMUR and the Union Leader to host the 2010 Granite State debates on our campus. We welcome this opportunity for our students to have firsthand access to the candidates and issues."
