The Constant Gardener, based on the best selling novel by John Le Carré, looks at what happens when a British diplomat’s wife --a socially-conscious lawyer -- turns up dead in Kenya.  The diplomat sets out to find the truth behind the murder and discovers that his wife had been compiling data against an international drug company that uses helpless Africans as guinea pigs, which is fatal.  The film will be followed by a discussion about non-governmental organizations and multi-national corporations.  [November 2, 2005]
