The WMUR-TV, New Hampshire Union Leader Granite State Debate series kicked off last night with Democrat gubernatorial candidates Jackie Cilley, Maggie Hassan and Bill Kennedy.
WMUR's Tom Griffith moderated the debate with panelists Josh Mcelveen from WMUR, the Union Leader's John DiStaso and NHPR's Josh Rogers.
Discussion focused on taxes, education and highlighted some of the main differences between these candidates.
Tonight's Republican Gubernatorial candidates Ovide Lamontagne and Kevin Smith take the stage to make their appeal to voters. The debate will be moderated by WMUR-TV's Jen Vaughn and include panelists Josh Mcelveen from WMUR-TV, the Union Leader's John DiStaso and Kevin Landrigan of the Nashua Telegraph.

This debate series opens just a week before the New Hampshire state primary on Sept. 11.
A second series of Granite State Debates will begin in late October and will include congressional and gubernatorial candidates just before the general election Nov. 6.
