The staff of the Geisel Library extends a warm welcome to the college staff and we invite you to use our many services. Some that we feel are of special interest are outlined below. We also offer comfortable seating with soft lighting and air conditioning during warm weather months. Think about taking a break from your work to come over, enjoy and explore. To access our collections, perform a search on GeiselCat or in our journal databases. This can be done from your office as well as from off-campus. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Consult our Hours page for up-to-date information on our openings and closings.
While the primary mission of the collections at Saint Anselm College is to support the course curriculum, there are many areas that also support non-course interests, such as recreational reading, viewing and music listening.
The Leisure Reading Collection is located on the Main Level in the Reading Room. Here you will find popular paperbacks by authors such as John Grisham, Jodi Picoult, Anne Tyler, Stieg Larsson and many more.
Also on the Main Level, near Leisure Reading, are recent issues of several high-use and popular journals. Among them are Yankee, Sports Illustrated, U.S. Catholic, New Hampshire Magazine, Consumer Reports and Discover. Arrangement is alphabetical.
The Juvenile Literature Collection on the Lower Level houses a growing collection of award-winning young adult and children's literature. While the focus is on newer titles, some earlier classics such as Rawlings' The Yearling may be found here. You may borrow them for your family's enjoyment.
The Film/DVD Collection is located on the Lower Level of the library across from the restrooms. Here you will find a myriad of feature films for your entertainment. Borrowing period is two weeks.
The Krantz Music CD Collection now holds over 2,000 CDs and continues to grow. You may browse the collection or perform a title, composer or performer search in GeiselCat. All music categories are represented in this collection: jazz, pop, classical, opera, showtunes and more.
