The Alva de Mars Megan Chapel Art Center at Saint Anselm College presents The Quality of Introspection: Portraits and Landscapes by Robert Bauer, with an opening reception on Thursday, January 31, 2013, 6 - 8 p.m.
The Quality of Introspection considers the nature of Bauer's portraits alongside a group of uniquely reflective landscape drawings. Following upon the inclusion of Bauer's Adam I in the gallery's 2009 landmark exhibition, A Figural Presence, this exhibition expands upon Bauer's concept of observation, providing an opportunity to further the notion of "poetic regard."
This exhibition, available Feb. 1 to March 16, 2013, is the third in a series of "suites" the Chapel Art Center is presenting as it celebrates its 45th anniversary season. The works of art are borrowed from Forum Gallery, New York, N.Y. and from the studio of Robert Bauer.
In addition, the gallery features programs and events accompanying the exhibition including "Curating a Conversation" with artist Robert Bauer and New York poet and critic, Elaine Sexton on Feb. 13 at 4:30 p.m. See the full list of events at www.anselm.edu/chapelart.
