The Saint Anselm College Choir will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a free, spring concert on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Saint Anselm Abbey Church. The program will feature a collection of music from the choir's repertoire of sacred song from the medieval period to the present.
For 25 years, the choir has accompanied important moments in the life of the college community including Family Weekend, New Student Orientation, the President's Society Mass, Nurse Pinning ceremony, and Baccalaureate Mass.
They have been singing liturgies in the Abbey Church since 1987, under the direction of Father Bede Camera, O.S.B. Alumnus Robert Aldrich is the assistant to the choir director. Each year the choir offers two free concerts to the community: December Song and an annual spring concert. This year the choir has 75 student members.
The choir recently returned from a concert trip to Europe where they sang in churches in Southern France and Spain. Read about their adventures and see a slideshow from their trip on the college's Flickr site.
