On Nov. 4, the Department of Fine Arts opens an Exhibition of Faculty Art Work with an opening reception at 5 p.m. at Launch Art Gallery in Peterborough, N.H. The exhibition features a compilation of artwork: photographs, paintings, sculptures, and new media videos, by ten faculty members. The exhibition will continue until Nov. 28 and can be viewed by appointment.
The faculty members include Kimberly Kersey Asbury, Rachelle Beaudoin, Megan Bogonovich, Luke Buffenmyer, Katherine Hoffman, Elizabeth Holmes, Margo Johnson, Iain MacLellan O.S.B, Elsa Voelcker, and David Banach. Each faculty member contributes a different artistic style ranging from abstract porcelain figures to oversized photography to even gelatin silver prints. Asbury explains, "Our art has grown a lot and changed since our last exhibit," which was in 2007.
Kimberly Kersey Asbury co-curated the event with Launch Art's owner Tim Donovan. "The move to an off campus site is a way to reach beyond our walls to the community," says Asbury. Peterborough is known as a hub of creativity and will attract the attention of local artists. The faculty members are excited to share their art not only with the Saint Anselm community, but the local community as well.
The faculty will soon feature a virtual gallery tour on their website.
