Since 2007, Fr. Mathias served Saint Anselm College as the Assistant Dean of Students. In that role he has been a resource for students providing support for student programming, advising, and counseling.

During his time in the abbey he has also served the college community as pastoral director of campus ministry, residence director in Dominic Hall and Brady Hall, and as an assistant in the college's business office.

Originally from Manchester, N.H., Fr. Mathias entered the monastery in 1987 and professed solemn vows in 1991. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1993.
