With the publication of his new book, White House Diary, former President Jimmy Carter discusses the split between him and the late Sen. Edward Kennedy over health care reform. In fact, Carter says he would have been elected to a second term as president had Kennedy not challenged him for the nomination in 1980.
Andrew Moore, associate professor of history, is writing a book about Carter and in a video, he discusses this famous rivalry among these two leading Democrats of their day.
