The Alva de Mars Megan Chapel Art Center at Saint Anselm College presents the 12th annual Juried Fine Arts Student Exhibition featuring 29 student-pieces, with an opening reception on Thursday, April 11, 2013, 6-8 p.m.
Students from all four classes submitted more than 75 entries, from which 29 works were selected for exhibition by distinguished guest-juror Rane Hall, Chair of Liberal Arts at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. The selection of artwork displays a wide diversity of media, including charcoal drawings, oil paintings, ceramics, and mixed media works such as artist's books and assemblages.
Among the entries selected for exhibition, several works will be recognized with special awards, to be presented at the opening reception on April 11.
This exhibition is a special opportunity for fine arts students, both majors and non-majors, to exhibit their artwork in the Chapel Art Center. Alongside the display of student work, selections from the permanent collection will be on view as part of the exhibition Décor and the Antique, which highlights particular aspects of the Chapel Art Center's collecting interests.
The Annual Juried Fine Arts Student Exhibition will be on display April 12 - May 3. Several special programs will accompany the exhibition, including ChapelJazz on Friday, April 12 as well as student recitals later in the month. For more information, visit the Chapel Art Center website.
