Neil Levesque, the executive director for the New Hampshire Institute of Politics and Political Library at Saint Anselm College, was recently named as one of the state's top influencers in Business NH Magazine.
Levesque and the staff at the Institute are credited with creating the focal point for politics in this state in the January issue's cover story, "2014 Influencer Index." The list includes 54 of New Hampshire's people and companies who "make it happen" including the state's top politicians, non-profit organizers, and private sector executives.
"In NH, politics is a state sport," according to the story, "and the NH Institute for Politics at St. Anselm College is the stadium."
Under the promise of anonymity, the magazine surveyed leaders in a number of industries around the state asking who they call when they need to get something done or make a connection. Additionally, leaders were asked who they considered to be influential and why.
The story credits Levesque and his staff with creating a place funded by public-private partnerships "where respectful engagement can occur."
"Although the article casts a light on me, the truth is that the Institute shines because of the student ambassadors and the NHIOP team," says Levesque. "I am committed to making the New Hampshire Institute of Politics the home for presidential and American politics in the state. We continue to be the hub for much of the political activity and civic debate in New Hampshire, positively affecting civic engagement at the College and in the local community."
The January issue of Business NH Magazine is on newsstands now. The online edition of the story will be made available later this month.
