Saint Anselm College has been recognized as a "Best Value Liberal Arts College" by Payscale Human Capital in the Payscale 2017 College ROI Report.
Among liberal arts colleges, Payscale ranks Saint Anselm as 33rd in return on investment (ROI), based on total cost and alumni earnings, without consideration of financial aid. The college is ranked 41st among liberal arts college in return on investment when factoring in financial aid. In the United States, there are over 500 liberal arts colleges and over 4,000 public and private colleges and universities.
The Payscale College ROI Report describes Saint Anselm, and other higher learning institutions, as among "liberal arts colleges which give alumni a high return on investment and prepare them for successful careers." Two broad criteria are reasonable cost of attendance and high earning potential, if not both. Payscale is an online salary, benefits and compensation information company that measures the value of college.
"Saint Anselm prepares students to be successful in their chosen careers," said Dr. Steven DiSalvo, president of the college. "The Payscale report confirms the value of a Saint Anselm liberal arts education in providing broad understanding, critical thinking skills, specific subject matter expertise, and a diligent work ethic."
"With student debt an especially critical concern today," added DiSalvo, "it has never been more important that college graduates get the best foundation possible for their professional futures."
In 2016, 99% of the senior class at Saint Anselm College was employed, in graduate school, or engaged in service within six months of graduation.
In addition to the Payscale ROI Report, Saint Anselm College was recognized in 2017 by U.S. News & World Report in the first tier of best national liberal arts colleges. The U.S. News & World Report also included Saint Anselm on the list of "A-Plus Schools for B Students," recognizing the college as seeking "a broad and engaged student body" where average students may thrive academically if they demonstrate determination and commitment.
Other distinctions for Saint Anselm include Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, ranking the college 217th among 660 colleges in affordable, quality education. As evaluated by students for the Princeton Review, Saint Anselm is acknowledged as 6th in the nation for "Student Engagement in Community Service," and 8th in the country for "Best Campus Food."
