Saint Anselm College was once again in the spotlight as Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos moderated a debate with WMUR anchor Josh McElveen just three days before "the first in the nation" primary. More than 500 journalists descended on campus Saturday January 7, filing their stories from the Carr Activities Center as the leading candidates for the GOP nomination debated inside the Dana Center stage.
Saint Anselm College has become "America's Classroom" during the lead up to New Hampshire's primary, hosting candidates, pundits and the public for debates, forums and discussions. The college hosted a debate in June 2011 with CNN, and four debates during the 2008 cycle with CNN and ABC.
