Two of the country's most inspiring women will speak on the Saint Anselm College campus in June. Girl Scouts USA's CEO Anna Maria Chavez and former Massachusetts acting governor Jane Swift are scheduled to participate in two separate women's leadership programs that coincide at Saint Anselm between June 8-13.
The two talks are open to the public by registration.
Saint Anselm College's annual women's leadership training program, NEW Leadership™ New England, is a leadership training program designed to educate and empower young women. It is a five-day, residential program with a full slate of speakers and panels taking place at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics. Two dozen women from several colleges applied and were accepted to the program, including three from Saint Anselm.
As part of the NEW Leadership program, Jane Swift will describe her experience in politics and talk about engaging young women in the political process. Her talk is on Monday, June 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the NHIOP auditorium.
On June 11, as part of the 7th Annual Women's Leadership Summit offered by New England Women's Leadership Institute, Anna Maria Chavez will appear as keynote speaker. Chavez leads the 100-year-old organization that has more than three million members, and she has received awards for her public service and community engagement. Her talk will be at 3:30 in the Dana Center.
The New England Leadership Summit, called "Blazing the Trail," features numerous speakers, including Elizabeth Ossoff, of the Saint Anselm Saint College psychology faculty. For information on registration, visit: http://www.newli.org.
