Commencement

Honors Convocation, Baccalaureate Mass, and Reception

Friday, May 19, 2017
Time: 4 p.m.
Location: Abbey Church

All graduands, parents, guests, faculty and staff are invited to attend the convocation, mass and reception.

All members of the graduating class will assemble at 3:30 p.m. in the Geisel Library. The cap and gown are worn for the convocation. The hood is not worn on this occasion. Honor society cords, medals, medallions or other paraphernalia are not to be worn. The procession to the Abbey Church will begin at 3:50 p.m.

Commencement Exercises for Class of 2017

Saturday, May 20, 2017
Time: 2 p.m.
Location: Lawn in front of Alumni Hall

Graduands with cap, gown, and hood assemble in Carr Center at 1 p.m. The Academic Procession leaves Carr Center at 1:50 p.m. Exercises should conclude by 4 p.m.


Rain Plan

If the weather is inclement, Commencement takes place in the Thomas F. Sullivan Arena. Graduands may obtain five tickets, available in the Registrar's Office, starting on Monday, May 1, and from 10 a.m. until noon on the morning of Commencement.

Parking

Due to the many guests that join us for commencement, please be prepared to walk across campus from outlying parking lots. Staff will be on hand to direct guests to handicapped and general parking lots.

Live-Stream Available

Live online video will be provided of the Commencement ceremony for those unable to join us on campus. The video will be streamed on Saturday, May 20.

On-Campus Simulcast

A simulcast of the ceremonies will be available in the Coffee Shop/Pub, Dana Center, Lower Church and the Perini Lecture Hall of the Goulet Center.

Commencement Photos, Inc. will take photographs as each graduand accepts his/her diploma. Only official photographers will be allowed near the platform at that time.
