Day Five: Sunday, October 13

Reflection: With faith in our future, we commit ourselves to Catholic education and to our own lifelong faith formation as educators.  With hope in the here and now, we find strength in your Spirit empowering us to be faithful servants and stewards of your gifts. With love, we offer the sacrifice of our joyful giving as an outward sign of the true treasure we hold in Jesus. (excerpt + Timothy Dolan, August 21, 2007)

Pray the Our Father, 3 Hail Mary's, and Glory Be.

Intercession: O Christ, our Teacher, You invite Your faithful people to make disciples in Your name and to announce good news to the poor.  Increase our commitment to development of the whole person, ignite our zeal for providing a well-rounded Anselmian education, and help us form our students into mature men and women who lead creative and generous lives as they nurture the soul of our nation.

Action: Take a moment to think about the teachers and students of the Saint Anselm community, hold them in your heart, and ask for God's blessing upon them.

We thought a novena to be a particularly special way for the Saint Anselm Community to prepare for and celebrate the Inauguration of our tenth President, Dr. Steven DiSalvo.  Together, whether near or far, the Saint Anselm family can be in prayer for these nine days.  The Novena will begin on Wednesday, October 9 and conclude on Thursday, October 17, we will then gather (here on campus or via live feed) on October 18 for the Inaugural Mass.
