The TRIO Scholars Office oversees the TRIO Scholars Program at Saint Anselm College.

TRIO Scholars (Student Support Services) is a program funded by the U.S. Department of Education to help students develop the skills and motivation necessary to successfully pursue and earn a bachelor's degree.

Overview

You may be eligible for TRIO Scholars (SSS) if you identify with one or more of the following:

  • A first-generation college student, meaning that neither of your parent(s) or guardian(s) graduated with a bachelor's degree
  • Come from a low-to-modest income background
  • Have a registered disability with Disability Services

TRIO Scholars provides:

Individualized Guidance

TRIO Staff work one-on-one with students to help them make a smooth transition to college, develop goals, and create an academic action plan.

Academic Coaching

To enhance the services of an academic advisor, TRIO Staff provide academic assistance navigating the systems of higher education and translating some of the lingo for students.

Financial Coaching

Assistance in applying for financial aid (FAFSA), scholarship searches, and financial life skills including creating a budget, managing credit and debt, and understanding personal finances.

Career Coaching

Assistance in applying for internships & jobs and resume building.

Graduate School Guidance

Planning and application assistance for graduate programs.

Community Building Connections

A place to feel connected with other Anselmians. Additionally, the program hosts TRIO nights and various signature programs.

 

TRIO Scholars Activities:

Attend Transitions (Pre-Orientation Program)

New incoming freshmen will participate in an all-expenses paid program prior to Anselmian Beginnings Part II. Students move onto campus early, meet other TRIO students, and get acclimated to college life. Additionally, students become familiar with campus resources and learn skills to help get their college career off to a successful start.

TRIO Scholars Community

First year students are matched with a TRIO Counselor to provide additional support and a smooth transition and connection to Saint Anselm College.
