Dr. Katherine Hoffman, Professor and Chairperson of the Fine Arts Department received her B.A. from Smith College and Ph.D. from New York University. She primarily teaches 19th and 20th century art history, along with two film history courses.

She also has some background in photography and painting, and is interested in interdisciplinary studies.

Currently, Professor Hoffman is working on a book for Yale University Press- "A Beginning Light: The Early Work of Alfred Stieglitz. She has had a variety of articles and books published. Her most recent books include: "Concepts of Identity: Historical and Contemporary Images of Self and Family," "Explorations: The Visual Arts Since 1945," "Georgia O'Keeffe: A Celebration of Music and Dance."
