History 100 (Hi B) Introduction to History

Description of the Course: This course is intended to introduce you to the ways that historians learn, know, and think. We will spend the first part of the course reflecting on the discipline of history. What is history? Why do we study history? How has the study of history changed over time? We will then explore some of the techniques used in the study of history, including source analysis, research methods, and writing skills. Finally, we will put our knowledge into practice by studying various historical events, periods, and individuals.

Class Meeting Time: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10:30 AM-11:20 AM
