Kroisos, Anavysos, Greece (ca. 530 BC)

This statue commemorates the heroic death of a soldier. The inscription at the base of this statue asks viewers to "stay and mourn at the tomb of dead Kroisos, whom raging Ares destroyed one day as he fought in the foremost ranks."
