| Chemistry: Chemistry (American Chemical Society Certified) |

The Department of Chemistry is approved by the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society (ACS). Completion of the approved program leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry with American Chemical Society Certification. Students who complete this program are well qualified for graduate study or professional employment.
Major requirements: Mathematics 170-180 Physics 131-132; Biology 336; Chemistry 130-131, 250-251, 270, 310, 280, 281, 370, 340, 360, 420, 421, and at least one elective chosen from among Chemistry 355, 350, and 380. In consultation with the student?s advisor, and with the permission of the department chair, advanced courses in Biology, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science may be substituted for Chemistry electives. |
