Gaining a Global Perspective
Saint Anselm encourages students to consider spending a year, semester, or summer studying in another country (usually during the junior year). Studying abroad presents an invaluable opportunity to gain a more informed perspective on your world, your country, and yourself.
In recent years, students have studied marine biology on Australia's Great Barrier Reef, art history in the museums of Florence, finance in London, language in Spain and France, and political history in Ireland.
Students' experiences studying abroad often remain the most memorable times of their college careers. In addition to the obvious cultural benefits gained from living abroad, students often make intellectual and personal gains as well. Experience studying abroad is a desirable qualification on your résumé.
In lieu of participating in study abroad during the academic year, students can sign up for faculty-led programs which include travel to such destinations as France, Greece, Italy, and Spain during the summer.
