Through central texts of the Confucian tradition, the course introduces students
to patterns of thought, vocabulary, and argumentation that characterized the
thought of Confucius and his followers. The views of Confucius, Mencius, Xunzi
and others will be the basis for coming to understand the way of thinking embodied
in one of the world's most important and widespread traditions.
