PH467-469 Preceptorial
The preceptorial studies a single book or author. Each student chooses a topic pertinent to the material under discussion and, with the help of several individual conferences with the instructor, writes a long essay. Examples of Preceptorials are:

Freud
Confucius and Lao-Tzu
Plato:
The Republic

Geometry
Dante:
The Divine Comedy
Indian Philosophy
Newman:
The Idea of a University
Courses which are not philosophical in content do not satisfy the college's three-course requirement in Philosophy. Consult the director.
